Hubby's Decadal Birthday
Hubby was a little bit afraid of getting old, so he asked me not to write his age on his birthday cake. He didn't want to see how old he is!
This is the cake I designed and baked for him!
The photo is eatable. No, it's not my son Leon in the picture, it's Hubby when he was about 7 months old! When our friends saw the pic the 1st time, they thought it would be Leon. Leon thought it was his pic as well. When Hubby was cutting the first slice of the cake Leon was annoyed...he was almost whining and blubbered out:"Daddy is cutting Leon! He is damaging the cake!"

..........shush! He is not 30! ;-))
We had for dinner vietnamese fondue with tender thinly-sliced beef and big prawns with a lot of herbs and vegetables. All these yummy ingredients can be wrapped to summer rolls and dipped to a magical delicate hot and spicy sukiyaki sauce. While writing this I get hungry again!

A snack plate made by my friend. Nice colors and composition.

This toy (Blackberry Bold 9700) was my present for him.
It was a great party with some friends and thank Mum for babysitting.

My generous son!
The name of my blog is mangolady, because I love mangos. The mango is the king of fruits (the durian is for me just the vice president!). But I just like mangos from Southeast Asia. The imported mangos you get here in Germany are not delicious. I'd rather not eat them, because the sorts in Germany and the sorts in Vietnam...they are like different fruits, like apples and pears! My Dad was on vacation in Vietnam and brought 2 mangos for me. They are so precious...more than gold and silver for me. :-) I like Terri's blog post about mangos best. She wrote: "When I eat a good mango, I understand Adam's temptation. I'm sure that forbidden fruit must've been the mango! How can it be a bland fruit like the apple?!" She is absolutely right!
Look at this video. Leon is eating the mango my dad brought from Vietnam and he is really charitable!

Birthday Cakes
Here are some cakes I made a couple of months ago.

This cake was for Beate, one of his kindergarten nurses. She helped Leon to acclimatize to the new kindergarten life last summer. I remember how awful Leon cried whenever I left the kindergarten in the morning. But after 2 months he has begun to love the kindergarten.

This cake was for his girlfriend Johanna. She and her mother love Hello Kitty stuff, so I made this cake.

Isn't she cute?

Johanna & Leon

I die laughing whenever I see this pic. What a macho Leon seems to be...lol.
The girl's name is Carlotta.

Easter!

I love tulips in spring. They make me feel happy. The hard cold winter has gone finally. Today it's about 19°C!

Easter wreath at our door.

Leon is painting an egg.

He likes it.

I'm sexy, baby!

He is watching "Shaun the Sheep". (He is not allowed to watch TV so often. 15 Minutes a day are enough.)

I'm so shy.

Cute.

Mischievous!
From today on I'll post every single Tuesday. Why do I have a blog if I don't blog? So I said to myself, I have to do it regularly even though I don't have much time. But blogging is fun, so please subscribe or post a comment. I would be happy to read your comments! :-)

15 minutes Christmas

This year I wanted to prepare some Christmas gifts for Leons kindergarten teacher, for my friends and postman...and I found that great and cute idea on a christmas market:
15 Minutes Christmas!
The content of this bag:
A short story, tea, gingerbread (cake), chocolate, Christmas stollen, aromatic candle, tealight holder. You also need decorations like a wooden clothespin, a Christmas bulp and a felt Christmas tree.

Delicious chocolate

gingerbreads

wooden clothespin

Instructions for use:
* Make a tea
* Light a candle
* Read the story
* Enjoy the tea and the gingerbreads

The kindergarten teacher and the others were very happy about this 15-Minutes-Christmas-Bag.
I wish you a merry Christmas!!!

Halloween

Yum-yum, fingers!
It was the first time we celebrated Halloween! In Germany it's more an event for kids. As I have a kid now I thought it would be nice if we had Halloween, too.

Yum-yum, mummies!

Our Halloween decorations in the kitchen.

Leon is a killer bee!

Thanh Thanh is a sweet pumpkin.

Scary vampire Nessie.

Jasmin is cutting fingers!

Even the spaghettis are awesome!
A week earlier I celebrated my Halloween-birthday. Here are some impressions:

Captain Jack Sparrow is beating Barbie. I decided to be Barbie because
I think Barbie represents artificiality and an unrealistic lifestyle and this is very scary for me!!!

Scream, Vampire, Wicked Nurse

We are looking so cute...

until we are showing our dark side.

Satan.

Barbie & Killer Bee

Sailor Moon!

Thumps up, Sailor Moon.
